SS-31 (Elamipretide; D-Arg-DMT-Lys-Phe-NH₂) is a cell-permeable mitochondria-targeted tetrapeptide developed by Hazel Szeto and Peter Schiller. It selectively concentrates in the inner mitochondrial membrane where it interacts with cardiolipin, stabilising mitochondrial cristae structure and reducing reactive oxygen species. Research has focused on its role in mitochondrial bioenergetics, ischaemia-reperfusion injury, and age-related mitochondrial decline.
Add 2 mL bacteriostatic water to the 10 mg vial for 5,000 mcg/mL. Dissolves quickly — no heating required.
